Joseph Wall, PhD
I am a professor of market strategy, innovation, and ethics at the University of Redlands, and the founder of Wall Applied Intelligence. My work brings together strategy, applied AI, finance, and ethics to help people learn, make decisions, and improve how their organizations work.
At Marquette University, I served as the Flynn Chair of Accounting Ethics and Disruptive Technologies and executive director of the AIM program. I work across the classroom, research, and practice, translating complex ideas into tools and approaches people can use.
At Redlands, I am helping develop AI-ready curriculum, Experience-to-Credit, and practical models for business school transformation. My Human Assurance research asks what a person must do before taking responsibility for work shaped by AI.
A professional life built around students.
At Marquette, I designed the physical and educational structure of the 36-seat AIM Lab for sustained collaboration. It became an around-the-clock home for analysis, research, competition preparation, employer engagement, and the informal conversations through which students grow.
I worked from the lab alongside students and continued building courses, tools, and research with them after leaving the director’s role. Daily presence, intensive coaching, and relationships with employers, alumni, and partners helped turn their work into opportunity.
During my work with AIM, the program grew to serve more than 200 students, and teams earned top-three finishes in 13 international competitions.
Marquette reports a 100% placement rate for AIM. For the students I worked with, placement included employment and graduate or professional study.
I bring that same attention to people, tools, and working relationships to workshops and institutional advisory projects.
